Uncover the real Oxford. The Museum of Oxford is the only museum dedicated to telling the story of Oxford and its people. Open 10am-5pm, Monday-Saturday. 🎼SOUNDS OF THE CITY: Truck Festival 🚛 (It’s a liiiittle bit bigger than `music on a truck in a field` this weekend...) Truck ‘98 was the first Truck Festival. The photograph here shows some of the action: performers playing on a carved-out haulage truck in September 1998. Original tickets, currently on display as part of the Sounds of the City exhibition, show admission was just £3 in advance (about £6 in today’s money). An original organiser t-shirt, also on display, features the Truck ‘98 logo: a shield based on a Route 66 road sign, alluding to the iconography of trucking culture in the U.S. Have you attended Truck over the years? On display at MOX until 13 March 2027. Photos and items kindly provided by the Bennett family. Research for the exhibition was completed with the generous help of Steventon History Society.
