The Icon Museum and Study Center is the foremost museum in the United States collecting and studying icons and Eastern Christian art. Taking photographs of our permanent collection for private use is allowed, provided you do not use a flash. Video, including with a cellphone, requires permission from the staff. Visiting exhibitions often have their own guidelines regarding photography, so please check with a staff member for details. Tripods and selfie-sticks are not permitted in any of the galleries. Be sure to share your photos on social media and tag the Icon Museum and Study Center! The Icon Museum and Study Center holds the most comprehensive collection of icons and Eastern Christian art in the U.S. with special galleries and collections dedicated to Russian, Greek, Veneto-Cretan and Ethiopian icons, spanning nearly two thousand years of art. Housed in a beautifully restored historic building in a picturesque New England mill town, the Icon Museum features five galleries, a research library, and an auditorium. The Icon Museum and Study Center is a wonderful place to explore: discover our unique permanent collection, temporary exhibitions, and browse the Museum Shop. For families with children, we offer magnifying glasses and an all-ages scavenger hunt for use in the galleries. For groups (10+) docent-led tours are available with advance notice.
